Fantastic Fishing this past weekend here in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica. We had on board a team from Stanford U to deploy Sat Tags for a study on the migration of Blue Marlin. The first day a Grand Slam 8 Blue Marlin 1 Stripe Marlin and a Sailfish….
Anyone have a box of tissues for Maikol Barrantes Tito and Juan are laughing. The end game was near on a nice tuna but when he though it was over the tuna made another run.
Fishing continues to be very good here in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica. The Tuna have showed up and the inshore fishing is fantastic. All Cubera Snappers were released to fight another day.
The tuna bite is still fantastic Kipp Felice his dad and brother in law hooked a few 100lb+ers but mostly their fish were in the 60lb class. The Black Hawk from New York and his son fought a big tuna for over 2 hours on an Okuma Makaria 10 landing the fish it weighted 120lb. The sailfish bite is also steady her in the southern zone of Costa Rica.
The bill fishing is starting to pick up we are raising Marlin almost every day we have landed 2 these past few days. Sailfish is picking up big time with the boats averaging 5 a day. Tuna are around as well.
Great inshore action the rooster bite has been on fire. One day 2 of our boats caught a combine 46 rooster many of them schoolies but nevertheless lots of fun. We also have been finding the tunas almost daily. Most of them in the 30-50lb class and some bigger ones…
